Lowcountry Living – February Events

February events will soon be taking over the Lowcountry. There are many ways to get involved and show your support for the community and fantastic organizations throughout the Charleston area. Which events will you be attending? Share with us in the comments below!

Chase After A Cure Golden Gala – Feb. 6th –  This black-tie optional gala includes dinner, dancing, drinks, auction, and live entertainment to benefit local research for treatments and cures for childhood cancer.

Shuck-A-Rama Oyster Roast – Feb. 6th –  Proceeds from this event will assist BIASC in providing help and support to persons with brain injury and their families, educate the public on the risks and impact of brain injury, and advocate for legislation and improve medical community based services.

Southeastern Wildlife Exposition – Feb. 12-14th –  SEWE is a three-day showcase of everything we love about wildlife and nature, shown through an incredible lineup of events – from fine art exhibits, conservation education, sporting demonstrations and parties.

Cupid’s Choice 5K Charleston – Feb. 13th – The very first Cupid’s Chase 5K event took place in 2009 with over 600 participants in Princeton, New Jersey.  The run was so successful that Community Options decided to take Cupid’s Chase nationally to raise awareness and provide housing and employment support to people with disabilities.

Chefs’ Feast – Feb. 21st – Nearly 30 area chefs will offer up delectable bites to benefit the Lowcountry Food Bank childhood feeding programs. Beyond the decadent array of food offerings, nearly 1,000 guests indulge in a hosted bar, enjoy the Big Band sounds of the Ray Michaels Band, and meet the Lowcountry’s own celebrity chefs as they serve up their signature dishes.

The Chocolate Affair – Feb. 27th – This fundraiser supports Communities In Schools of the Charleston Area Inc., a nonprofit organization that surrounds students with a community of support, empowering them to stay in school and achieve in life.

Mardi Crawl on Shem Creek – Feb. 27th – Join in on the fun with music, food, drink specials, games, prizes and shuttles and boat taxis to travel between venues. This fun event benefits SC Alzheimer’s Association and Pet Helpers.

Oyster Roast and Chili Cook-Off – Feb. 28th – Yum! You don’t want to miss all you can eat oysters, hot dogs, chili cook-off and live music benefitting Florence Crittenton of SC.
