William Means Gives Back

It is amazing to think that we are nearing the end of another year. The holiday season is one of fun and reflection, but it can also be busy and stressful. Lately I have heard many people talk about the hustle and bustle of the holidays. November and December often come with the feeling of not having enough time to get everything done before events and gatherings begin with friends and family.

Recently on a particularly stress-filled day, I reflected back on a Post and Courier article written about MUSC Children’s Hospital Pediatric Palliative Care Team and Dr. Conrad Williams, who is responsible for the program.  It was a moving piece focused on a family and what they went through in the final days of their baby’s life.  I began to wonder why people worry so much about getting things done around the holidays, when it is such a simple part of life in comparison to what many families face on a day-to-day basis. The thought of what a day is like for parents and children who are in need of Dr. Williams’ care is truly heartbreaking.  I also considered the challenging moments that heroes like Dr. Williams experience as they serve and care for others. When we encounter days that add a small amount of stress to our lives, especially around the holiday season, we should reflect and truly be thankful for what we do have.

As we come to the end of the year, William Means Real Estate is excited to be making a donation from our agents and our company to the MUSC Children’s Hospital Pediatric Palliative Care Team, headed by Dr. Conrad Williams.  All of us at William Means feel fortunate we can support those on truly the most difficult days.

We wish you a Happy Holiday and a Merry Christmas!
