Lowcountry Living – October Fall Events

October is fast approaching and we are excited to take part in fabulous Fall activities around the Lowcountry. Here are a collection of our favorites coming up next month. Which will you be attending? Share with us and comment below!

Boone Hall Fright Nights – This year’s schedule features twenty nights of thrills and chills with four scary attractions to enjoy from now through Halloween night. New this season, you can try to graduate from “Horror High” or put your fear of the dark to the test in “Blackout.”

Isle of Palms Connector Run and Walk – The Race will start at 8am on Saturday, October 3rd. Racers will begin at the designated point on Palm Blvd. They will then follow along Palm Blvd and turn left onto the Isle of Palms Connector at the light and over the intra-coastal waterway.

Legare Farms Pumpkin Patch & Maze – The Legare Farms Pumpkin Patch and Maze opens Saturday, October 3rd and is open every weekend until the 31st on Johns Island. Enjoy pumpkin picking, hayrides, horse riding, the scarecrow factory and more!

Kiawah Cup Beach Polo Invitational- The sport of kings comes to Kiawah Island. On Sunday, Oct. 11, the Kiawah Cares Foundation will host the inaugural Kiawah Cup Beach Polo Invitational. The day begins with the pre-match Pony Club Cocktail Hour. Opening ceremonies kicks-off on the beach in front of the Sandcastle Community Center at 1:15 p.m.

South Carolina Stingrays Hockey – The Stingrays will host a special Opening Night on Saturday, October 17 at 7:05 p.m. against the Reading Royals. The evening will be Mother Emanuel AME Church Family Night, which will serve as a night to honor the many lives impacted by the June church shooting in Charleston.

27th Annual Town of Mt. Pleasant Children’s Day Festival – This annual festival will take place Sunday, October 18th from noon-5 pm. From time-honored carnival games and mechanical rides to enormous inflatable slides, live entertainment, wall climbing & many other activities, this is one event all families are sure to love! Admission and all activities are free.

Bark in the Park! Oktoberfest – It’s Pet Fest with a Bavarian flair on October 18th from 11-4 pm! Pets are encouraged to bring their owners to one of Charleston’s newest Oktoberfest celebrations. The costume-friendly event offers pet exhibits, demonstrations, experts, entertainment, and more!

6th Annual Charleston Mac Off – Last year, a record of 6,000 people gathered to sample traditional and gourmet offerings of Mac & Cheese and award bragging rights to The Best Mac & Cheese in Charleston. This year will be bigger and better! Enjoy your favorite food group Saturday, October 24th from 2-7 pm.
