Lowcountry Living – June Events

Summertime is upon us and we can’t wait to enjoy the wonderful Charleston weather at fun local events and activities! Share with us in the comments below which June events you will be attending and other fun excursions throughout the Lowcountry!

June 3rd – Party at the Point – Charleston’s premier happy hour concert series, Party at the Point, is back for its 16th season. The weekly outdoor concert takes place every Friday afternoon starting at 5:30pm at the Charleston Harbor Resort and Marina on Patriot’s Point and features a full cash bar, including draft specials.

June 4th – Colonial Lake Grand Reopening – The Charleston Parks Conservancy and the City of Charleston will host a grand opening and ribbon cutting on Saturday, June 4th to celebrate the newly renovated Colonial Lake.

June 7th – Fish Festival of Saint Fortunado – Beginning at 6:30 p.m., guests are invited to celebrate Italy’s patron saint of fisherman, Saint Fortunato, with a family style, three-course sea inspired menu from Chef Kevin Getzewich at Indaco Restaurant.

June 10th – Friday Night Boogie Series – The Mount Pleasant Pier’s popular new Friday night dance series returns! Ages 21 and up are invited to do some shag dancing on the pier, rockin’ to the sounds of DJ Jim Bowers spinning a variety of unforgettable oldies, beach music classics, and line dancing hits.

June 10-12th – Southern Living Live: 50th Anniversary Celebration – This three-day celebration in the Holy City will feature a variety of events hosted by the magazine’s editors and local personalities. The city’s culinary tastes, shopping districts, music scene, and homes & gardens will be on display.

June 11th – Sweetgrass Basket Weaving Workshop –  Learn to make traditional sweetgrass baskets with the Charleston Museum and basket maker, Sarah Edwards-Hammond. Grab your friends, family, or just bring yourself and learn about an incredibly beautiful craft that has been a staple of culture, art, and history in Charleston for centuries!

June 13th – 2nd Sunday on King Street – Come enjoy your Sunday afternoon shopping and socializing on King Street. There will be events and activities, shopping, food and wine, and more!

June 27th – Naturalization Ceremony at Middleton Plantation – Held each year commemorating Arthur Middleton’s birthday, the Naturalization Ceremony has become a distinctly patriotic event. Middleton Place welcomes the public to attend the ceremony to witness the memorable occasion starting at 10 am.
