◂ Back to Posts

The Andrew B. Murray Vocational School was built in 1923 on Chisolm Street in downtown Charleston, SC.  Andrew B. Murray grew up in an orphanage and financed the school as a way of giving back to the city.  The Neoclassical Revival Style characteristics of this building include the engaged portico and fanlighted doorway.  The school moved to another downtown location and in 2002 and was renovated into 27 prestigious condominium units. The restoration of the building received the Carolopolis Award from the Preservation Society of Charleston.  The Carolopolis Award is given to recognize outstanding acheivement in preservation, restoration, and rehabilitation in Charleston.  3 Chisolm Street is located in the desirable South of Broad area surrounded by serveral amenities such as Moultrie playground, Colonial Lake and is just steps away from the gorgeous Charleston harbor.  To view units currently for sale click here.
