In a city where the food tastes as good as the sunset views look, there isn’t a better place to dine al fresco while watching the sun go down. We’ve rounded up a list of our favorite restaurants with stunning views of the sunset.

Charleston Harbor Fish House. Conveniently situated on Patriots Point for easy access by land or sea, Charleston Harbor Fish House features dishes like Shrimp & Grits, Surf and Turf and more. Take in panoramic views of the historic Charleston skyline, the Charleston Harbor and the USS Yorktown and Marina from every table in the restaurant. If you’re joining for happy hour, head to the Bridge Bar located on the rooftop for unparalleled sunset views.

The Rooftop at Vendue. Make your way to downtown Charleston and head to The Rooftop, located at the top of the Vendue hotel. Upon entering the hotel, you will notice elaborate art work, which is changed out every season. The Rooftop offers sweeping views of the Charleston Harbor, the Arthur Ravenel Jr. Bridge, Waterfront Park and the iconic church steeples of Charleston.

Shem Creek Restaurants. Two of the most popular reasons Charlestonians visit Mount Pleasant’s Shem Creek is to enjoy a delicious meal waterfront or watch the sunset over the Charleston harbor. Tavern & Table, Saltwater Cowboys, Water’s Edge and Vickery’s Bar & Grill all offer menus that range from seafood, steaks, salads, wood-fire oven pizzas and a plethora of appetizers. You can enjoy outdoor dining while watching the sunset, boats passing by and also catch magical glimpses of dolphins swimming by.

Fleet Landing Restaurant. Located at the foot of the City Market in Historic Downtown Charleston, this waterfront restaurant offers some of the best sunset views in Charleston. Their menu is comprised of local produce and seafood. After finishing dinner, take a walk around Waterfront Park or find an ice cream shop nearby.

Bowens Island Restaurant. Located five miles from Folly Beach, this restaurants eclectic vibe is only part of its charm. Enjoy delicious fried seafood, oysters and other Lowcountry cuisine that have been local favorites for decades. Sit outside on the deck to enjoy your meal while catching the sunset over the marsh.

Whether you’re a Charleston native or just visiting the Holy City, dining al fresco while watching the sunset is a must. If you need a Charleston expert to show you around, one of our agents would be delighted to show you why Charleston is such a special place.
