Celebrate July 4th in Charleston

◂ Back to Posts

Independence Day is less than a week away, so we are rounding up our favorite local celebrations that will offer all the fireworks you could ask for this 4th of July. Which events will you and your family be attending? Share with us in the comments section below.

Start your day off with the Charleston Wind Symphony’s Patriotic Spectacular beginning at noon at St. Philip’s Church in downtown Charleston. Preceding the concert, the Washington Light Infantry’s annual reading of the Declaration of Independence and March to St. Philip’s will begin at 11:00 a.m. at the Old Exchange.

Charleston County Parks will celebrate the holiday at the Mount Pleasant Pier. Known as Uncle Sam Jam, this annual event is the perfect spot to enjoy a fantastic Independence Day party. Gates open at 7 p.m. and live music starts at 8 p.m..

The Red, White & Bluegrass Cruise on the Charleston Harbor offers great views of celebratory fireworks. This two hour cruise comes with great live music featuring The BlueStone Ramblers and a cash bar. Keep in mind this event is for ages 21 and up.

If you don’t want to go on a cruise but still want to be on the harbor, there’s no better way to spend the Fourth of July than aboard the USS Yorktown. With two ticket options available to spend the evening on the flight deck, you’ll enjoy a professional fireworks display and shore side party with a beach music band at Patriot’s Point in Mount Pleasant.

Nothing’s more American than drinking and dining al fresco overlooking America’s top rated city. From live entertainment to multiple firework shows, The Rooftop at The Vendue is the place to be.
