America’s Safest Cities – Charleston

In Travel + Leisure America’s Favorite Cities survey, Charleston ranked #3 among the safest cities.  But why do traveler’s feel so safe in Charleston?  Charleston places a high priority on the safety of visitors.  The Walk & Talk program has police officers patrolling on foot instead of just behind wheel. “This interaction with residents, businesses, and visitors creates an opportunity to build rapport and trust,” according to Major Joe Riley.
