Isle of Palms. This seven-mile island is known for its breathtaking beauty. Whether you drive, bike or run across the Isle of Palms Connector, the views of the Atlantic Ocean are all the more stunning. The wide, sandy beaches are the perfect remedy for a relaxing beach day in the sun. Enjoy fresh, local seafood at The Boathouse, or take in the marsh views right from your table at Islander 71. Looking for a getaway? Isle of Palms is home to Wild Dunes, occupying 1,500 acres of the island, with luxury golf courses, tennis courts and pools at your disposal.
Sullivan’s Island. Just north of the Charleston Harbor, Sullivan’s Island is a peaceful and charming beach town, that is popular amongst locals. With limited short-term rentals and no hotels, motels or bed and breakfast lodging, Sullivan’s Island gives you a taste of the typical beach town without the hustle and bustle of tourists. There is a strong emphasis on family, community and nature throughout the island. Folly Beach. Folly Beach is known for its great waves and laidback lifestyle, perfect for catching a wave on your surfboard. Kiawah Island. A private, gated island with 10 miles of beach, Kiawah Island is known for its exclusivity and privacy. It’s the best of both worlds with a tight-knit community feel and resort-style amenities. With five championship golf courses, recreation programs, miles of trails and water sports, there is no shortage of fun in the sun here! Shop and dine the day away at Freshfields Village, which is home to more than a dozen cafes, restaurants, lounges, and shops.
Seabrook Island. Located 25 miles southwest of Charleston, Seabrook Island is known for its sleepy, peaceful setting. With three miles of unspoiled coastline, Seabrook Island is a great destination for a relaxing beach getaway. Kayaking is a fan favorite water activity here.
Edisto Island. Similar to Seabrook Island, Edisto Island is just 42 miles south of Charleston. Edisto Beach is a true sanctuary, offering serene and expansive beaches where wildlife roam free. Spend the morning birdwatching followed by an afternoon in the sun.
