Where to Watch 4th of July Fireworks in Charleston

◂ Back to Posts

The 4th of July is just around the corner and we’re excited to celebrate it in Charleston. For many Americans, this celebratory day consists of cookouts with family and friends, relaxing by the pool or at the beach, and best of all, extravagant fireworks shows. The Charleston area hosts several different fireworks shows to commemorate this special day in American history.

MOUNT PLEASANT

Patriot’s Point. Patriot’s Point is an ideal location to view the fireworks shot over the Cooper River. Set up a chair or blanket on the park’s lawn at no cost or celebrate aboard the USS Yorktown.

Mount Pleasant Pier. Stretching 1,250 feet out into Charleston Harbor at the foot of the Arthur Ravenel Jr. Bridge, the Mount Pleasant Pier offers great views of the fireworks show at the annual Uncle Sam Jam as well as live music, dancing, and refreshments available for purchase.

ISLE OF PALMS

Wild Dunes. The Wild Dunes Resort on Isle of Palms hosts the island’s annual fireworks show, where visitors can enjoy the view from the resort’s Grand Pavilion or the beachfront.

DOWNTOWN CHARLESTON

Waterfront Park. Stroll through the charming French Quarter to reach Waterfront Park, which offers panoramic views of the Charleston Harbor from the Ravenel Bridge to Fort Sumter. Sit on one of the numerous benches or the lush lawn and enjoy the spectacular fireworks show.

Charleston Harbor Tours. Claim a front and center seat for the fireworks show aboard the Carolina Queen on Charleston Harbor Tour’s 4th of July Fireworks Cruise. Light snacks and a cash bar will be available.

JOHNS ISLAND

The Carolina Girl. Reserve your spot on the Carolina Girl Yacht and enjoy an evening cruise on the Charleston Harbor, capping the night off with excellent views of the fireworks show.

FOLLY BEACH

Folly Beach. Ride the waves at the Washout, fish off the pier or in the surf, or explore the beachfront by paddleboard before heading to the beachfront to watch the 4th of July fireworks in Charleston’s favorite laid-back beach town.

However you decide to celebrate the 4th of July this year, we hope you have a wonderful holiday weekend that is safe and fun!
