Coastal Living magazine and William Means Real Estate announce that the 2009 Idea Cottage in I’On at 102 Latitude Lane will be open for public tours beginning August 14th. Tours will be held through October 11th. Tour times will be 11-5 Thursday through Saturday and 1-5 on Sunday.

Tickets will be $10 and may be purchased at the door, at I’On Realty (159 Civitas Street in I’On), and at the William Means downtown office (41 Broad Street). Tickets may also be purchased online at www.CoastalLiving.charlestonrealestate.com. Ticket proceeds will benefit East Cooper Habitat for Humanity and East Cooper Montessori Charter School.

Coastal Living built its first Idea Cottage in I’On more than 10 years ago and is back to celebrate over a decade of success. The Idea Cottages celebrate the best in coastal home innovation, décor, and construction and are built in coastal communities hand-selected by the magazine for environmental consciousness and sensitivity to shoreline preservation. The home will be featured in the October 2009 issue of Coastal Living.

The 2009 Idea Cottage is built by Structures Building Company, an I’On Guild Custom Builder and Charleston’s 2007 Builder of the Year. The 2,400-square-foot home, located on a reserved property in the heart of the neighborhood, will feature Caribbean-style architecture and a signature private courtyard. Steve Kendrick, Structures Building Company owner says, “As a 10-year resident of the neighborhood, I’m proud to be building this unique home and excited to see the Jefferson Canal project come to fruition in I’On. It is a great opportunity to showcase our green building techniques and spread the word about the economic, environmental and health benefits of living in a sustainable home.”

The project team also consists of architect Historical Concepts, landscape design firm Kerns Land Planning and Design, interior designer Angie Hranowsky Design, and sales and marketing team William Means Real Estate, LLC
