Fall is here in the Lowcountry and we can’t wait to experience all it has to offer: pumpkin picking, Oktoberfest and plenty of outdoor activities. Which October events will you be attending? Send us a note in the comment section below!

Sept. 29 – Oct. 9 – MOJA Arts Festival – 2016 marks Charleston’s 33rd annual MOJA Arts Festival: A Celebration of African-American and Caribbean Arts. Selected as one of the Southeast Tourism Society’s Top 20 Events for many years, the MOJA Arts Festival promises an exciting line-up of events with a rich variety of traditional favorites.

Oct. 2 – Fields to Families Anniversary Party – Join this local nonprofit organization for their 10 year anniversary party with catered food and live auction.

Oct. 6 – 30 – Fall Tours of Homes & Gardens – A different tour is offered daily during the Fall Tours. Visits include gardens, homes, churches, public buildings and proceeds benefit the Preservation Society of Charleston.

Oct. 8 – 9 – Oktoberfest Charleston – Enjoy German food and drink, polka dancing, children’s games and a brat eating contest. This event benefits the Community Outreach Center of St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church.

Oct 15 – Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure – The event raises significant funds and awareness for the breast cancer movement, celebrates breast cancer survivorship and honors those who have lost their battle with the disease.

Oct. 16 – HALOS Oyster Roast – Dine on oysters, chili, hot dogs, beer, wine, and enjoy live music, silent auction, and a kids’ jump castle. This event benefits HALO’s mission to help abused and neglected children in the Lowcountry.

Oct. 19 – 23 – Colour of Music Festival – This five-day festival includes events at various venues that highlight the impact and historical significance of black classical composers and performers on American and world culture.

Oct. 22 – Charleston James Island Connector Run – Join in the fun at the 18th Annual 10k Run or Fun Bike Ride plus 5k Run or Walk. This event benefits the Gavalas Kolanko Foundation to assist students with disabilities.

Oct. 27 – Nov. 6 – Coastal Carolina Fair – Experience live entertainment, more than 60 amusement rides, exhibits and competitions
