How to Style Your Home for Summer

◂ Back to Posts

It’s summertime in the Lowcountry, making it the perfect time to freshen up your home’s style to match the season. Utilize these decorating and design tips to have your home looking ready for the warm months ahead.

Add Flair to Your Front Porch. Whether it be bright window box arrangements, a fun planter, an American flag or colorful pillows on the porch swing, these small touches make your home look festive and inviting.

Declutter Your Living Spaces. Pare down items in your living spaces and put away any dark or heavy accessories or wall art until its time to cozy up again in the fall.

Swap Out Linens. Changing out your pillows, throw blankets, and bedding and incorporate a summer palette with crisp whites, deep blues and a bright accent color or two.

Incorporate Fresh Blooms. Fresh flowers and greenery instantly brighten a room. If you can’t keep up with replacing fresh blooms every week, go faux for a long-lasting look without the hassle.

Put Color on the Table. Consider purchasing a few bright accent dishes to add a summery feel to every meal, whether it’s a family gathering at the dining room table or a cook-out on the back patio.

Add Light to Outdoor Spaces. We spend more evenings outside in the summer, so set the mood with string lights, lanterns, or candles on your patio, back deck and porches.

Now that your home is ready for summer, it’s time to enjoy backyard barbecues, pool parties, and summer evenings out on the porch. Have a great summer, everyone!
