Housing Market Affordability

◂ Back to Posts

“The Post & Courier article, Home Prices too High for Many, is looking at our housing market affordability through generalities.  Our housing prices are skewed to the high side because of the downtown historic area and also waterfront and beachfront properties.  There are many affordable neighborhoods in West Ashley, James Island and even Mount Pleasant.  All of these areas have easy access to downtown and I-26.  I recently participated in a sale representing a buyer client who purchased a home in old Mount Pleasant for $145,000, well below the average home price of $188,000.  I think this is all the more reason for buyers and sellers to work with experienced agents who know the area.”
