Holiday Events in the Lowcountry

◂ Back to Posts

It’s the most wonderful time of the year and we can’t contain our excitement for another year of holiday festivities in the Lowcountry! From the palm trees wrapped in Christmas lights to the crisp red bows and fresh wreaths donning the doors of South of Broad homes,  holiday cheer can be found everywhere in this charming city! To help you get into the spirit of the season, we’ve rounded up a list of holiday events taking place all over the Lowcountry. So grab your loved ones and your favorite Christmas sweater and get to celebrating!

Illumination Charleston. Get into the holiday spirit with Explore Charleston and Southern Living! Illumination Charleston is a two day event offering a curated Holiday Market with local and regional vendors, a full day of cooking, decorating and holiday entertaining demonstrations, a tour of the 2024 Southern Living Idea House and more!

Charleston Christmas Parade. If you find yourself strolling South of Broad on Saturday, December 7th, take a moment to stop and enjoy the Charleston Christmas Parade, taking place throughout Broad Street, Meeting Street and Calhoun Street. Once the parade concludes, head on over to Marion Square for the Tree Lighting!

Aquarium Aglow. Spend some time under the sea this holiday season! The South Carolina Aquarium is offering an immersive holiday light spectacular, with fun installations, photo ops and more. Grab your tickets and get ready for a night of a night of wonder.

Skate the Stadium. Presented by American Express at Credit One Stadium, Skate the Stadium is back for a highly anticipated third season, where you can enjoy ice skating, snacks and specialty cocktails and seasonal beers. Tickets are $10 per person and include skate rentals and a 45-minute skating session.

Let it Snow. Experience snow fall in Charleston at the Charleston Place’s Let it Snow event. Through December 31st, snow will fall every evening on Market Street Circle at select times, for all to enjoy the magic of the holiday season! While this event is complimentary and open to the public, reservations are recommended due to limited capacity.

Little Pine at the Ryder Hotel. The Ryder Hotel, known for its chic aesthetic and central location, transforms their poolside restaurant and bar, Little Palm, into Little Pine to celebrate the holiday season! With stunning decor, personal gondolas, and delicious bites and sips (we’re thinking about the chocolate fondue), Little Pine is a must do!

Chanukah in the Square. Enjoy a festive celebration with live music, arts and crafts, traditional seasonal food and the lighting of a menorah at dusk at Chanukah in the Square, hosted by Chabad of Charleston and the Yaschik/Arnold Jewish Studies Program at the College of Charleston!
