Meet Alex Brener

As a lifelong resident of Charleston, Alex Brener has a true appreciation of what it means to call the Lowcountry home. He is a graduate of the Porter-Gaud School 12-Year Society and Elon University Business School.

For more than a decade, Alex served as the founding owner and president of a private equity group focused exclusively on real estate projects. His background in real estate finance allows Alex to bring a unique perspective to the buying and selling process. From the knowledge of new and custom construction to flipping more than a dozen investment properties and investing in over one hundred single-family homes, his experience is invaluable when guiding his clients through the local market. Whether they are relocating to Charleston, first-time home buyers or searching for a second home, Alex understands the importance of finding the right home in the right neighborhood.

He currently resides in the Old Village in Mount Pleasant with his wife and two young children. Alex enjoys traveling, spending time at the beach, fishing and crabbing, and exploring Charlestonís many amazing restaurants.

What is your favorite restaurant in Charleston?

Itís difficult to choose in Charleston, however currently it is Coda Del Pesci. Head Chef Ken Vedrinski is producing some of the best Italian food at both of his restaurants but Coda Del Pesci pairs his world class pastas with a seafood flair. When combined with a direct view of the Atlantic Ocean nestled on Isle of Palms, it is truly a treasure.

What are your favorite features of homes?

By far my favorite aspect of Charleston homes are the piazzas. Outdoor living space is a major part of any Charleston home whether downtown or at the beach. We have some of the most beautiful houses in the nation and the porches are such a vital part of their character, whether you are entertaining or just enjoying a morning cup of coffee.

What is your favorite part about Charleston?

My favorite part is the diversity. The ability to have a perfect Saturday on the water or on the land. The absolutely beautiful but completely different styles of houses throughout the region. The diverse and exceptional restaurants downtown from Italian to BBQ to French cuisine. I love how none of our three major beaches are identical. The ability to never have an identical day after living here for 30+ years is what makes Charleston such a lovely city.
