Whether they are relocating to Charleston, first-time home buyers or searching for a second home, Alex understands the importance of finding the right home in the right neighborhood.

He currently resides in the Old Village in Mount Pleasant with his wife and two young children. Alex enjoys traveling, spending time at the beach, fishing and crabbing, and exploring Charleston’s many amazing restaurants.

  • Alex was a tremendous help. We flew in from out of state on short notice and Alex had great listings prepared for us. Once we decided which home we wanted Alex was there to help every step of the way. He was always easy to reach and quick to respond. I would recommend him to anyone that is looking for a home. - Joshua Castillo

  • Alex was my agent during my search for and purchase of a unit in the Charleston, SC area. As an out of state buyer I was unfamiliar with the various areas and Alex’s knowledge of both the area and the real estate conditions was critical in shaping my decision to purchase a unit which met my needs – placing me in a location which allowed me to be near my family. When the unit was placed on the market, Alex was able to quickly (less than 12 hours) arrange access to the unit while I was in the Charleston area so that I could see it and worked with the seller to be able to purchase the unit within 25 days. Alex coordinated the inspection in a timely manner given the short closing period ensuring that I was aware of any and all problems – being over 800 miles from the purchase. He also recommended a closing attorney and provided recommendations allowing me to get the necessary insurance in place to protect the purchase. Alex was always available, responded quickly to texts, emails and phone calls, ensured that I was aware of all options, problems and solutions to the normal items which come up during a real estate transaction. Alex was also there post-closing to resolve some confusion on key personnel with the HOA – showing support when his efforts were technically completed. If I am in the market again for a house, condo or land Alex will be the first person I call and I recommend that if you are in the market that you give him an opportunity to satisfy your needs. - Mark O'Leary

  • Working with Alex has been nothing short of an amazing experience. We were moving to Mount Pleasant from Charlotte, North Carolina and after countless showings, we finally decided on a new construction home. Because we were out of town and couldn’t see the progress of construction, we had a bit of anxiety about the home, but Alex made us so comfortable with the process! Alex went above and beyond and kept in constant communication with us as the home was designed and built. He would send us pictures of progress and gave us detailed notes about what was being done and if there were any setbacks. When it was time to do the final walk through and we were having some logistical issues getting our schedules to line up with the builder’s schedule, Alex took it upon himself to ensure that the walk through happened and all the repairs were completed before we moved into our home. Alex is professional, knowledgeable and extremely patient. He guided us through the process of moving across state lines and we felt comfortable every step of the way! I’d highly recommend working with Alex if you want the most trustworthy agent who will give you five star service, even after closing. - Kelly McClelland

  • Alex handled my contract and closing. He was professional from the beginning and made it easier to go through the process. When the mortgage company was delaying things he was on top of getting the appropriate paperwork to us so we could continue smoothly. He kept good communication at all times. Anything can happen on the way to the closing table but if you have someone like Alex he will guide you successfully to close on your new home. I recommend Alex when you are buying or selling your home. - Kathy S.

  • Amazing service! Alex looked out for our best interest and we completely trusted him throughout the home buying process. He still makes himself available for anything needed even after the closing. - Arelis Rosario

  • Alex is an agent's agent. Hardworking, knowledgable and as professional as they come. It was a joy to work with him and we would strongly recommend anyone we know do the same. - Jessica Ward

  • We had a great experience with William Means Real Estate. The buying process could not have easier for me and my wife. We'd recommend this firm to anyone buying a home in the Charleston area. Shout out to Alex Brener for his hard work. Alex did a great job for us throughout the entire process. We're very pleased with the purchase we made. - Austin Williams

What is your favorite restaurant in Charleston?

It’s difficult to choose in Charleston, however currently it is Coda Del Pesci. Head Chef Ken Vedrinski is producing some of the best Italian food at both of his restaurants but Coda Del Pesci pairs his world class pastas with a seafood flair. When combined with a direct view of the Atlantic Ocean nestled on Isle of Palms, it is truly a treasure.

What are your favorite features of homes?

By far my favorite aspect of Charleston homes are the piazzas. Outdoor living space is a major part of any Charleston home whether downtown or at the beach. We have some of the most beautiful houses in the nation and the porches are such a vital part of their character, whether you are entertaining or just enjoying a morning cup of coffee.

What is your favorite part about Charleston?

My favorite part is the diversity. The ability to have a perfect Saturday on the water or on the land. The absolutely beautiful but completely different styles of houses throughout the region. The diverse and exceptional restaurants downtown from Italian to BBQ to French cuisine. I love how none of our three major beaches are identical. The ability to never have an identical day after living here for 30+ years is what makes Charleston such a lovely city.
