Meet Helen Butler


Helen Butler is a Charleston native who grew up on Meeting Street. She graduated from the Emma Willard School in Troy, N.Y., and attended Sweet Briar College and the University of London before heading home to earn her bachelorís degree in fine arts from the College of Charleston.

Helen has a true appreciation of architecture and preservation in the downtown neighborhoods. She and her husband received the Carolopolis Award from the Preservation Society of Charleston for their work in renovating a home in downtown Charlestonís Harleston Village.

Helen has been a full-time, professional real estate agent for more than 20 years, specializing in the sales and marketing of homes throughout the Lowcountry. She has thorough knowledge and experience in historic Charleston, James Island, West Ashley, Mount Pleasant, Daniel Island, Sullivanís Island, the Isle of Palms and Johns Island.

Helen is on the board for the Charleston Top Producersí Club, is an Accredited Buyer Representative and has earned the designation as a Realtor of Distinction year after year.

Helen and her family live on James Island are members of the Country Club of Charleston and First Scots Presbyterian Church. Her son graduated from the College of Charleston and her daughter graduated from University of South Carolina.

What is your favorite part about Charleston?

The historic homes, churches, buildings and the beautiful beaches and waterways. I also love our local restaurants, all the cultural activities and the friendly people who live here!
