Jane Dowd was born and raised in Augusta, Georgia, but developed a deep love and appreciation for Charleston at a young age. As a child, she spent summers with her family on Isle of Palms and Kiawah Island. Eventually, Jane returned to the Holy City where she earned a degree in Business Administration from the College of Charleston. She has been a licensed Realtor since 2005 and been named a Realtor of Distinction on multiple occasions.
Jane enjoys introducing her clients to the beautiful communities around the Lowcountry, from historic downtown to West Ashley, Mount Pleasant and beyond. She recognizes that many new and long-term residents enjoy the Lowcountry lifestyle yet must travel for work outside of the Charleston area. Jane relates to these clients on a personal level as her husband travels frequently for work out of New York City. She has assisted many out-of-town clients relocating to Charleston and works diligently to make this transition as smooth as possible. Jane prides herself on being a valuable resource for both buyers and sellers looking to find their niche in this city that she loves to call home.
Jane and her husband have two children and reside in The Crescent, a historic neighborhood in West Ashley just minutes from downtown Charleston. In her free time, she enjoys playing tennis and relaxing at her creek-front home away from home on Edisto Island.
I love that the weather allows me to be outside year round. I never get tired of running in the historic district, our rich southern history, and the array of great events and new restaurants to try.
Integrity, true desire to make sure my clients are 100% happy with their choice, love of Charleston, knowledge of area/schools/clubs etc.
I love the history and the gardens of downtown Charleston homes. It's just fun to imagine how they were originally used and what owners have done over the years to modernize.
