A downtown Charleston native, Lyles is not only considered a top broker on the peninsula, but a real estate leader for the whole Charleston market.
For more than a decade, he has been a top producer, selling more than a hundred and fifty homes - over $200 million worth - with William Means. He is now the fourth owner of the company.
Well recognized for his local connections and work ethic, Lyles has helped weave William Means into the fabric of Charleston and elevated its business affairs through strategic management and dynamic leadership. He attributes the firm's successes to its true client-first mentality.
Lyles and his wife Katie (owner of local art gallery Meyer Vogl Gallery) are the proud parents of three young children. The couple lives downtown and were recently awarded the Preservation Society's Carolopolis Award for the restoration of their historic 1920s-era home.
A graduate of Charleston's Porter-Gaud School, Lyles attended Southern Methodist University, where he studied economics. He then worked as a financial analyst in New York City before returning home.
A firm believer in giving back, Lyles contributes to the MUSC Children's Hospital with every sale. He currently serves on the board of directors for Preservation Society of Charleston, a non-profit established in 1920 aimed at preserving Charleston's diverse neighborhoods and quality of life.
There's something about Charleston. My wife and I both grew up here, and we often talk about how, even though we left Charleston in our 20s, we knew in our hearts that we couldn't stay away for too long. Yes, our families are here, and yes, it feels like home. But when you're away from Charleston, you also yearn for the salty creeks and fresh seafood and running into old friends in the grocery store and the exciting buzz of a city that's growing. I am so happy to be raising my own children in this dynamic city now.
I was born and raised here in Charleston, and I spent my childhood riding my bike around downtown and fishing in the creeks of Isle of Palms. I know and love this city like it's a family member, a lifelong friend. Growing up here instilled an enthusiasm for Charleston architecture, for its waterways, and for discovering its hidden gems. Charleston real estate is my passion; I can't imagine doing anything else. In addition, my drive to provide first-rate service is innate. I constantly reevaluate how to improve my client's experience when selling or buying a home.
Integrity. Integrity comes first in everything we do. I feel fortunate to be surrounded by agents and staff who value honesty and dependability above all else. This ethos is why we have been in business since 1933, and it's why coming into the office every day feels like coming home. We're a small boutique firm, and I trust and rely on every single member of the William Means team. Integrity is our foundation for serving clients and for being Charleston's leading boutique real estate company.
