Forbes recently published an article, The World’s Smartest Cities. Charleston, South Carolina ranks in the top 10! Ranked as number 8, Charleston is focused on expanding its port and manufacturing base. Two big players in the expansion are Maersk and Boeing. The Maersk Line, renegotiated their contract earlier this year and will continue to operate out of the Charleston port through at least 2014. Boeing will expand the manufacturing base by bringing its 787 Dreamliner factory to Charleston.
