Soon after graduating from Queens University in Charlotte, NC, I was encouraged by Marilyn Hartley to obtain my real estate license and come to work for her part time. For the next 23 years, I worked for Marilyn whenever I lived in Charlotte.
Although my primary focus was to raise my sons and support my husband, I have always maintained an active real estate license. I’ve assisted friends and acquaintances to find their houses (as well as moving myself a dozen times). It gave me a thrill to help someone make their most important investment, and I took pride in finding them the perfect house. I further found the renovation of my own homes aided me in assisting others in their home search. These experiences enabled me to offer suggestions for improvements that would turn a house they really liked into the home they were seeking.
In North Carolina, I was actively involved in my communities and churches. In addition to all the schools my boys attended, some of my favorite causes were Lincolnton Cultural Center, The Mint Museum of Charlotte and The Children’s Theater of Charlotte. I was a member at Myers Park Presbyterian Church, First Presbyterian Church, St Paul’s Episcopal Church and Christ Episcopal Church.
I grew up in Greensboro, NC with my parents and a younger brother. Both of my parents are still living there. My brother and his family live in Charlotte NC as does my adult son who followed my footsteps into the real estate industry and sells industrial commercial real estate. I currently reside in Mount Pleasant with my husband and my two pugs.
